Can I combine Lombok and Gilis in one trip?
Easily. Short boat from Bangsal (Lombok mainland) to any of the three Gilis (20–30 min). A typical split is 3–4 nights Gilis, 3–4 nights Lombok mainland.
Are the Gilis safer than mainland Lombok?
Both are safe for tourists. Gilis have lower crime (no cars means no traffic accidents) but you still need to watch sea currents on the western sides.
