5 stars, but definitely not a cheap visit. I went to Bali MMA a few times during my stay and it was easily one of my most expensive stops in Indonesia. That’s also because I chose to add things on. I came from Legian, so transport was about 250k IDR each way. I did a 1-on-1 training session for 500k IDR, grabbed an iced long black from the cafe for about 35k IDR, and bought merch. The merch receipt alone came to 2,466,200 IDR. The training session itself was really good. My trainer was Sabar and his style was different again from what I’ve had in Australia, but not in a bad way. He picked up on small issues and corrected me where needed. The warm up wasn’t excessive, the session had a good flow, and there was a warm down at the end. It was extremely hot, but if you’ve trained through an Australian summer, you can handle it. The place was clean and had change rooms, showers, and somewhere to store your gear that was still in eyesight of where you train. Front desk was staffed and fr

4.5/5 stars from me! 💪🏽 I love training at Bali MMA every time I’m in Bali. The vibe is hardcore, which pushes you to perform at your best, but everyone I’ve spoken with is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also love that the gym draws people from all over the globe — it’s an amazing way to test your skills against a wide variety of styles and experience levels. The coaches are super helpful and make it a point to welcome newcomers, which really helps if it’s your first visit. A few areas that could be improved: - At first glance on initial arrival, the hardcore vibe might be intimidating for newer athletes. That said, everyone I’ve met has been approachable and supportive. - Prices are a little steep compared to the local Bali standard, more in line with casual fees at an Australian martial arts gym (day pass for $30 AUD). It would be great to see some more flexible casual entry options like multi-class packages (e.g., 2, 3, 5, or 10 classes) that don’t expire, in addition to

Had a great first experience at Bali MMA after flying from the UK to train no-gi jiu-jitsu. Scott was great coach, came round to every pair that was drilling and was attentive to each and every person within the class. Could potentially be slightly more welcoming to people stepping foot in Bali MMA for the first time as it is quite a large and busy gym (but that may be difficult to the large number of students and knowing who is new and who isn’t). Overall I was very happy with my training and it was a VERY high level which is great for someone wanting to test themselves. So much so I will be attending again this weekend.
