I recently stayed at Mercure Bengkulu, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing due to several service and facility shortcomings.Upon entering the room, there were no towels provided. When I requested them from the housekeeping team, I was initially told that towels were not available. After I mentioned that I needed to take a shower, I was given only one towel. The second towel was delivered much later in the afternoon, which was quite inconvenient.Additionally, the TV remote was not functioning, and I had to wait quite a long time for the staff to come and check it. Basic items like this should be ensured to be in proper working condition before guests check in.There was also no laundry bag available in the room, and I had to request it separately. This should be part of the standard room amenities. In terms of service, I found it lacking as well. The security staff was not friendly, and the staff handling the waffle station during breakfast also appeared unwelcoming.I

This was my first time exploring Bengkulu, and I picked this hotel mainly because of its super strategic location—surrounded by plenty of places to eat and close to various tourist spots. Historical landmarks like Rumah Pengasingan Bung Karno, Rumah Ibu Fatmawati, Gereja Santo Yohanes Penginjil, and Benteng Marlborough are all just a short distance away. The room was cozy and nicely cooled, the bathroom was clean, and the amenities were complete. I also loved that they provide a water dispenser for easy refills—such a nice touch. Facilities-wise, it has everything you need: a swimming pool, a gym (with classes available), and even a playground. The breakfast spread was pretty solid and filling. I also tried pempek for the first time here, and it was sooo good! Also, if you arrive before check-in or have some time to kill after check-out, no worries—there’s a working space at Andune Lounge on the first floor. For just an additional Rp50k, you’ll get bread and a drink. Would definit

I have stayed here many times before and usually love coming here but this time was different I am not sure if they have changed management? When getting to the room I was hoping to shower after a long day of travelling however no towels were present. I let the persin who brought my bags know and he said he would get them sent. After 1hr they never came I rang reception who struggled to understand english and eventually managed to get 2 towels. In the whole time of being there they never provided hand towels and numerous days I had to request bath towels after the room was cleaned. In addition to this, as we went to get in bed the first night we discovered the bed to be full of stains, in fact the room I am not certain was cleaned before our arrival. I rang to request the bed be changed at around 22:30 at night, a cleaner came to do this but seemed frustrated. I also requested maintenance as on entry to the room, where the keycard sits was fully hanging off with cables exposed. The

Hotel in general is good. We have stayed in Mercure Hotels before and only in Bengkulu and Medan we were offered extra services when having a massage for extra $$. Makes it very awkward and questionable about the 4/5 star rating.
