  Putu is hands down the best surf coach I've ever had. I have worked with many coaches before, and most of them usually tell you things like "don't panic, paddle harder, just keep trying." They'll help push you into waves, but very few will explain the techniques behind what you do. Putu is completely different. He is genuinely passionate about teaching and helping you improve. Every time I asked questions, he's happy to go into detail and explain the mechanics and techniques. The biggest difference is that the things he teaches really work. After applying a few simple adjustments he taught, my popup and balance improve dramatically, and I progressed from riding a soft board to a hard board. The improvement was almost immediate. What I also appreciate is that he takes coaching seriously. Sometimes he can be strict, but that's exactly what makes him such a great coach.   I had an amazing surfing experience with Putu in Bali. From the moment we met, he was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease in the water. As a reluctant intermediate he really took me to the next level! Putu is extremely knowledgeable about surfing and the local conditions and even took me some awesome secret spots all over the island. He took the time to understand my level, gave thoughtful tips, and never rushed me - even when I was nervous in the "big surf". On one of the days I took my son and he was incredibly supportive and positive with him- even encouraging him to try a hard board - which he surfed on really well (to my surprise!) He was made him feel safe, well looked after, and genuinely encouraged to enjoy the experience. We also got some epic gopro footage included.   I got a one-hour surf lesson at Putu Surf Club and had a really great experience. Putu was amazing — very patient, professional, and easy to communicate with.
