As a local surf school, they have an incredible deep connection to the ocean and know every hidden break, from the longboard-friendly waves at Mangroves to the more challenging spots. They don’t just "guide" you; they teach you how to understand the water, which gave me so much more confidence. The best part was how safe I felt the entire time. They are extremely attentive in the water, ensuring you’re in the right position and pushing you just enough to progress without ever feeling overwhelmed. Beyond the surfing, they just show you a great time and they truly make you feel like part of the local community.   If you’re looking for an authentic experience of West Sumbawa, this is the route in which you will get it. Diane and Hendrik hosted/guided my sister and I for a week in Kertasari and I can’t think of a better way to do it. They provide a super personalized experience and treat you as guests in their home. You will surf some of the best waves (without the crazy line ups), meet some of the kindest people, experience the magic of the local village, enjoy delicious meals, beautiful sunsets… the list goes on. If you are lucky enough for Diane and Hendrik to host you, do it. It’s the right way to experience such a special place.

  Surf classes I absolutely loved surfing with Hendrik. He really takes care of you, understands your level, and always chooses waves that suit your abilities. He never rushes anything and makes sure you feel comfortable at all times and gives you nice tips to progress to the next level. Hendrik is a genuinely kind person who deeply cares about the place he comes from, trying to aligning the local culture to the surf culture. Overall, it was a full, meaningful surf experience that I 100% recommend. I really hope to come back soon.
