Dude might drop you in a reef break washing machine on your first day, but he will teach you how to surf! Due to his good judgement of incoming waves, you will progress fast on the right waves while others fall being pushed into the wrong waves. While waiting on those perfect moments he will give you all the tips you need, answer any questions or challenge you to water fights. Me and my girlfriend had a lot of fun surfing and learned a lot from Mahir. Thanks for the fun sessions and hopefully see you next time we visit Lombok!

Had a great full week surfing with Mahir! He’s so sweet and encouraging, not to mention his wave selection was always great!! Caught so many waves even in a busy lineup & always had the best time chatting with him in between waves. 🥹 after meeting so many instructors over the course of my stay, I can confidently say I’d recommend Mahir if you’re looking for someone professional to coach you through your surf in Lombok! Mahir is a fantastic surf coach! My wife and I were first time surfers and we spent 6 days surfing with Mahir 2-3 hours per day and went from not being able to do anything to standing up on the first day and surfing 20 second long Waves at Ekas beach break later than week. We surfed with other coaches also but Mahir was the standout. Mahir is really patient, very intelligent, his English is excellent (fluent) and he is a natural teacher who listens and understands your needs and preferences. He will help facilitate what is best for you, not what suits him (like some other surf coaches in Lombok). He’s a really lovely young man with great values and very professional. He even took us to an amazing sunset spot one afternoon! If you want to learn to surf, improve your ability or have a guide to get you to the best waves, then we couldn’t recommend enough hiring Mahir as your surf coach or guide.

Best surf school in Kuta Lombok – hands down. I’m not a beginner, but these guys still managed to seriously level up my surfing. The instructors actually watch you, give real feedback, and push you just the right amount. They chose the perfect spots for my level and made each session both challenging and super fun. Also – good vibes only, no macho ego BS, just pure stoke. If you’re somewhere between “I kinda surf” and “maybe pro one day,” this is the place for you.
