  I hadn't surfed for ten years so went for a semi-private lesson to get some tips. Was the best idea, paddles out with Adjie the instructor and he gives great instructions on positioning, paddling speed to get you onto the best waves. Give tips after each wave to help improve as well!!!! The camera man filmed all my waves and his enthusiasm cheering me on was great to hear! The review of the footage with instructor is helpful after the surfing. Andy the owner was easy to deal with I just text him on whatsapp for late booking the night before both times i went.   Highly recommend dawn patrol for lower intermediate surfers who want to improve and gain confidence. I trained for about one week with Popo who helped me feel calmer in the water and practice being more in a rhythm with the wave which made surf overall even more enjoyable! And then one week with Adgie who helped me clarify lots of technical questions and explained what to focus on, which I continue to practice as I surf at the home break now. So grateful for this experience. Also big thanks to the manager Andy who’s just a nice human :)

  Usually I don’t leave any reviews, but this experience was top tier. I had instructor Edwin and he was very fun, understanding and supportive. I Always wanted to go surfing and this was definitely a very good place for a first time surf. They took videos of every single wave we took so don’t worry about the moment slipping away bc you get to keep it! If you bring an extra person they can stay at the cafe and eat while you surf (it’s what my brother did). We first learn the basics on sand and spend a good amount of time on water. I was scared it wouldn’t be enough time but boy I was very tired at the end 😭. The atmosphere on water is also wonderful, everybody is supportive and friendly, they cheer as you ride the waves :). If you like physical activity this is the jam for you. Good cardio, wonderful people, clear water. Definitely want to keep surfing after this 🤙🤙

  We were three people and had an amazing surf lesson with Popo as our coach. The lesson was in English and easy to follow. Popo is extremely patient, motivating, and gave each of us individual feedback. We felt safe the entire time and learned a lot while having great fun. The whole team was friendly. A fantastic experience and highly recommended for beginners — we would definitely come back! 🌊🏄‍♂️
