Well the experience itself is a must and I definitely recommend but what I recommend more than anything is to do you research and ask the exact itinerary. Our driver was lovely but seemed like it was his first time at the volcano and he knew nothing. Once we all jumped on the Jeep everything became quite frustrating after visiting the crater he then took us to a Caffe to watch the sunset. At no point it's been told to us that the location of the sunset would be sitting at a table, is not what we paid for we wanted to see the volcanoes from the sunrise point the famous point. Our driver had no idea of what we were talking about he had no idea of the location whatsoever, the jeep guy pretended not to speak English and kept saying that we didn't have any petrol (which I don't understand how this is any of my problem, surely we paid more than enough to fill the tank) once I contacted the agency eventually the guy drove all the way back, just 15 min further than the crater , he was very pis

Actual experience and the places we visited (Bromo and Tumpak Sewu) were amazing. Would definitely recommend the actual tour. Driver was very sketchy, made us pay more on every location to put some extra money into his own pocket. For example at the waterfalls. He made us pay the tour guide 300k IDR after the tour and put 100k into his own pocket. I actually saw him do it. Besides, he lifted heavily on our pockets without even asking for it. We paid for his drinks and snacks. So unfortunate to have this bittersweet taste after such an amazing experience!
