Located in the northern part of Surabaya, Kota Lama Surabaya is one of the city’s most fascinating heritage destinations. Walking through this historic district feels like stepping back into the colonial era, with rows of Dutch-style buildings, old warehouses, and vintage architecture that still preserve the atmosphere of old Surabaya. The area reflects the city’s long trading history dating back to the 17th century and showcases influences from European, Chinese, Arab, and Malay cultures. One of the best things about Kota Lama Surabaya is its atmosphere. The streets are photogenic, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight enhances the beauty of the old buildings. Many visitors enjoy simply strolling around, taking photos, or relaxing in nearby vintage cafés. The revitalization efforts by the city government have also made the area cleaner and more tourist-friendly compared to previous years. The district is also rich in historical value. A city park rich in history. There is a playground for children. The park is clean and well-maintained. Guided tours of the old town area are also available here at varying rates. In the evening, the view is quite charming with the lights. It is located next to Chinatown, also known as Kembang Jepun. There is a place of worship for Muslims and clean restrooms. Several coffee shops are also available. However, there isn’t much in the way of entertainment. It’s simply a place to enjoy the evening.
