  Had an amazing stay at Uma Kalai! The location is definitely tucked away and can be a bit tricky to find, but that’s exactly what makes it such a special Ubud hidden gem—it’s the perfect spot to truly switch off. ​The staff are so incredibly friendly and thoughtful; they remembered our names and truly cared about our needs. They do turndown service every night and always left a surprise waiting for us (the chocolate cookies are to die for!). They even gifted us two handmade coasters at the end, which was such a sweet touch. ​The rooms are super clean and comfortable, and the twice-daily housekeeping was a huge plus. The view of the rice fields is absolutely stunning—perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Also, for those worried about the water, it’s crystal clear. We brought our own filtered shower head and didn’t see any discoloration at all, so no need to worry about Bali Belly here. Plus, the food at the restaurant was delicious for both breakfast and dinner.

  The view is breathtaking, rice fields and mountains as far as the eyes can see. The staff were attentive and wonderful, and communication was set up via a WhatsApp group which worked really well.The staff go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. They are friendly, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The room was beautiful, very comfortable and spacious. From breakfast to dinner- everything the restaurant produces is excellent. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. In fact we did book an extra night!The mattress is perfect. Sufficient storage to put things away. Spacious bathroom with a view.

  We had the most fabulous stay at Uma Kalai. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we felt truly looked after. Everything was amazing: our room, Jala Suite (overlooking the mountains), breakfast, massages, gym but most of all the warm & welcoming, professional & attentive staff. Each and everyone were just lovely and absolutely made our stay, perfect! Honestly, our favourite place that we have stayed in Ubud and will definitely be back 🙏

  Wow! We could not have asked for a better place to stay in Bali. Located 15 min from Ubud center, this boutique hotel was perfect. From the wonderful staff, to the attention to detail, and the great food, we felt at home every day. It would be unfair to single out one particular person as every single one of you played a part in making us feel at home. You are some of the most thoughtful people we have met. We could tell you love your jobs and loved caring for us like we were family. Thank you for making my birthday celebration one I will never forget and one that I will be talking about for years to come. We already miss you and look forward to seeing you again.
