Indonesia national parks

Indonesia has around 50 national parks, ranging from Komodo's dragon islands to Kerinci's volcanic wilderness. Four are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Planning notes

  • Entrance fees vary IDR 20k–500k depending on park + foreigner status; carry cash.
  • Volcano parks (Bromo, Rinjani, Kerinci, Semeru) can close at short notice — check volcano safety.
  • Rhino + tiger sightings are almost never guaranteed; go for the ecosystem, not the checklist.
  • For Komodo + Raja Ampat combined dive planning, see the diving itinerary.
