Ever since I first tried freediving, I fell in love with it. And since Nusa Penida is one of the best locations and was still on my list, I decided to do my four-week Master program here. The dive center is very nice—if you want, you can even rent a cabin right on the premises for your stay. The equipment they provide is very good as well. For example, they have rubber weight belts instead of the more common nylon ones, so they have some stretch and don’t slip as you compress on the way down. My instructor, Artur, doesn’t just look like Aquaman—he really lives in the water. Whether it’s line training, fun dives with mantas, underwater photoshoots or spearfishing, he does it all. Plus, after a course ends, everyone usually heads out to the reef just to have fun. Being the open ocean around Penida, the currents and visibility do change day by day. I had the most wonderful experience with everyone at Freediving Penida - they're so knowledgeable and kind and helpful! I did both my level 1 and level 2 freediving courses here, and I will be coming back for my next round of learning! Artur and the team are fantastic, he even reminds me to take my anti-nausea medication (I still get seasick, haven't been able to figure that one out yet - thank god for western medicine!!) Lil (my instructor for the advanced course) was exactly what I need in a freediving instructor - calm, hyper intelligent, and a total weirdo! :P Highlight of my trip was getting to do an underwater photoshoot with Artur - we got really creative and it was so surreal to put my new freediving skills to use to make art???!?!?!? is this real life??? Holding my breath while holding a huge leaf and trying to look totally zen 10m underwater is a feeling I will never forget! absolutely delighted to build on my skills and get more comfy doing this slightly bonkers hobby in

If you're a passionate Ocean person and someone who deeply cares about the ocean, this place is for you🌊 Not just the instructors, Arthur and Lilian are real professionals, they deeply care about the way we encounter animals, naturally, without chasing and interfering. If you're looking for an amazing experience, getting some insane underwater animal encounters while freediving, videos and photos, and friendship, this place is a must-visit! 💙🤿

Had a really great fun dive experience with Pure Diving! I tried both scuba diving and the freediving course here. The instructors were incredibly kind and patient throughout the whole experience. If I come back to Bali next time, I’ll definitely choose Pure Diving again.
