I departed from Padang Bai Harbor on 5 July last year to catch a fast boat to Gili Trawangan. The harbor was bustling with energy, but the check-in and boarding process went quite smoothly. It is the perfect starting point for an island getaway. While waiting to board, I enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the view of the clear blue water. It’s a busy but well-organized hub for travelers heading to the Gilis. A great start to a memorable trip.

Beach full of boats and fishing boats. Sometimes it’s very difficult on sand as there are many anchoring ropes for boats. It look nice with many boats however. Neighbouring streets are full of restaurants, coffee shops and stores as it is close to Padang Bai downtown

You don't come here for the beach. The water is clear but the beach is full of rubbish and broken boats. You come here if you are catching a boat for a dive or snorkelling trip, or the ferries to the other islands. There are so many boats that it is not pleasant swimming between them.

This is a busy bay for speedboats going to Gili islands and lombok, some also go to Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The water in the bay looked blue and clear but lots of rubbish floating on the top from all the traffic , which is so sad to see, as this may very well have once been a great beach, with its sandy bed and sandy entry into the water. That said, it’s better that major boat traffic is contained to certain ports. It would be nice to move this one to an area where the beach is rocky and not for swimming .
