I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Rip Curl School of Surf in Bali. From day one, all of the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had a great time both in and out of the water. The atmosphere was relaxed, encouraging, and fun, which made learning so much easier. A special shout-out has to go to my instructor, Budi. He is an absolute legend. His patience, positivity, and ability to explain things in a way that actually clicked made all the difference. He knew exactly when to push me, when to encourage me, and how to build my confidence in the waves. I honestly owe all of my progress to him. After just five short surf sessions, I was amazed by how far I had come. What I managed to achieve in that time felt relatively impressive for a complete beginner, and there is no way I would have gotten there without Budi’s coaching and support. If you’re thinking about learning to surf or improving your skills, I couldn’t reco

I had a few surf sessions with Surya at Rip Curl School of Surf in Sanur, Bali, and it was honestly a blast! He is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about surfing. What really impressed me was not just his understanding of surfing theory, but the way he teaches beginners. Not everyone who is good at surfing knows how to teach properly, but Surya definitely has that skill. He explains things clearly, gives confidence in the water, and makes learning fun and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back to Bali and hope to learn under him again. Highly recommended!

We had signed up 3 kids for a 3 day beginners surf class which we split across Sanur on 2 days and Kuta on the third day. Overall, the quality of the coaching was very good, especially at Sanur and the kids loved it. A couple of the instructors (at Kuta) got mixed feedback from the kids. The facilities at Sanur are very good, but at Kuta this was not true - the changing area and showering facilities were rather poor. Overall though, the kids had a great time and enjoyed the experience. The reason for my low rating is a safety incident that happened on day 3, when the Rip Curl van was bringing us to the surf venue from our hotel; the driver was falling asleep at the wheel. For a long time he was driving extremely slowly with cars overtaking us on both sides. At one point he drove off the road - luckily I was sitting next to him at the front and had my eyes peeled to the road and managed to quickly take control of the steering wheel and got the van back on the road. We averted what c

Had a good time at the stand-up paddling class. Rey was a good teacher—he gave a quick 10-minute rundown of the basics and then we were straight out on the water. The weather was perfect and I had a great time paddling around. The club is well-organized too, with towels provided, showers, and changing rooms right there. Definitely worth a go!
