We had a great time diving with Arborek Homestay and Diving Center for about a week! Their dive manager, Henrick, speaks very good English and is friendly, communicative, flexible and accommodating. We had Alexa as our dive guide for the whole time. She is a new instructor to the dive centre and arrived on the same day as us! Despite of being new to this area, she found us great macro stuff after knowing that we love macro. She even found a Pikachu on our first day! We were very impressed! And of course, mantas, so many of them and so beautiful! Current is sometimes strong, but Alexa is good with the currents. She goes into the water to check the current before each dive and manages our dive accordingly. The boat crew were always cheerful and helpful. We were the only clients in most days and were very happy about being able to do long dives. We had our own gear, but did have a good at their gear, which looked quite new and in great condition. The whole experience was so fun and lov

First of all, praise to Hendricks, the guy on site who takes care of the guests. He will help you with anything and open a lot of coconuts for you!💪🏽 the Bungalows are like everywhere else in the region, basic but absolutely doing their job. The food is tasty and mostly the same each day so not a ton of variety...but thats also normal in the region. they will serve the occasional fruit: bananas and water melon. Fresh fish most days. Rice, tofu and greens. shower is via bucket, also normal. electricity from 6pm-6am and the cell tower on the island works well so you can make a hotspot. buy sim or esim. great dive and snorkel spots and good equipment at the dive center make daily trips enjoyable. Waisai to Arborek island in the small boat costs 1200000 IDR. the island is small with a few tiny shops selling water and salty snacks. Overall a good homestay and in style and comfort like most homestays in Raja Ampat. Communication with the owner is decent...ask for Hendricks number

FEMALE TRAVELLERS READ THIS: I had a mixed experience at Arborek Dive Homestay. The positives: the location is beautiful and the diving itself was enjoyable. The dive equipment is basic and not the best quality, but it works. If you’re experienced and comfortable checking your own gear, it’s manageable. The accommodation and food are also basic but good and filling, and for the price it’s very good value. No complaints there. The permanent manager, Henrick, was genuinely kind, professional, and supportive. During my stay, the temporary manager was Oves and one of the divemasters was Zach, and my experiences with them were very different. Oves crossed some professional boundaries — including jokes about kissing, prolonged hand-holding, and long hugs that felt uncomfortable. That said, aside from this, he was sometimes pleasant to be around, had a good presence, and was very competent at his job. If it had only been Oves, I would likely have enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, Zach is wh

I didn’t stay here but dived with them. It was a great experience. The dive guides were so friendly and helped spot lots of interesting things under the water. The equipment was good and I felt very safe. Highly recommended
