    My friend and I joined a 7D6N liveaboard aboard the Gaya Baru Indah at the end of May. Although this is generally considered the “low”season, Ralf and his team made the entire trip incredibly enjoyable and memorable. We visited many of the iconic dive sites in Central Raja Ampat, and the dive team was both professional and exceptionally skilled at spotting marine life. A special shoutout to our dive master Otis, for keeping us safe while making every dive fun and entertaining. The dive equipment was well maintained throughout the trip. The regulator and BCD I used appeared to be relatively new and in excellent condition, which gave me extra confidence underwater. The Gaya Baru Indah boat is a beautiful traditional wooden boat with charming décor and plenty of space for 6–8 guests. It felt comfortable and never crowded.     I did a 6 day trip in October with Big Blue Indonesia and it was the best diving experience I’ve ever had. Ralph runs the boat as a long time ptofessional. Everything is organized down to the details, creating a relaxed and secure environment. The crew were incredibly friendly and helpful the whole time. Dive sites were stunning, with lots of large schooling fish. My favorite is the wobeegone sharks and cuttlefish. The boat was spotless. Yhe food was fresh and delicious with creative use of local produce. I was never had a chance to go hungry as there were always great snacks in between wonderful Indonesian meals. Can’t recommend this experience enough, and hope to be back for a longer trip next time.

    Amazing trip! My brother and I did a 6 day trip with Big Blue Indonesia and it was hands down one of the best diving experiences I’ve ever had, if not the best. Ralph runs the boat like a pro—super organized but still chill. The crew were incredibly friendly and helpful the whole time. Dive sites were stunning (manta, sharks, macro, big schools of fish, healthy reefs—everything!), the boat was spotless, and the food was super yum. Tasty meals and snacks all day. Can’t recommend this experience enough, and hope to be back for a longer trip next time.

    One of the best trips I’ve ever been on! My father and I spent a week on the Gaya Baru Indah, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. Everything was perfect — from the breathtaking dive sites (definitely among the best dives of my life) to the delicious food and the incredibly kind host, Ralf, who made us feel like part of this little family at sea. We’d come back anytime!
