  We had an amazing stay at PapuArts Alter Native Stay. The place is truly special, very natural, peaceful, and far from mass tourism. If you’re looking for an authentic experience close to nature, this is perfect. Timon, the owner, and his family were absolutely awesome. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and family-oriented, everyone is kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. A special thanks as well to Mundo, who took great care of us, guided us around, and made sure everything was perfect. We loved the activities, especially the snorkeling/diving with turtles and the beautiful coral, absolutely unforgettable. The surroundings are stunning, with big trees, birds singing in the morning, and your feet in the sand all day. The food is simple but very fresh and delicious, especially the fish.   We stayed 5 nights at Papu Arts and absolutely loved our stay. Our rooms (we stayed in the land based rooms) were Clean and comfortable. The food was the best we had in Raja Ampat! Delicious! And the hosts were so helpful organising activities for us. We loved everything- 😍 especially the birds of paradise & snorkelling tours and our walks through the village.

  We spent 3 weeks in Raja Ampat, each week at a different place. PapuArts was definitely THE BEST (and we were already very happy with the others). This is why: -Amazing water bungalows, solid and built with great taste, designed to catch the breeze, and featuring a big and comfy bed. -Delicious food, buffet style but we could tell it was cooked with dedication. Literally the best food we had during our whole time in Raja Ampat. They also accommodated for a vegetarian diet and kept varying the dishes so that we always had something different to enjoy! -Fantastic owners and staff. Timon and Helga were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful hosts, and they made us feel at home from the first moment. Special mention to Erna, who chased us every evening with a super-yummy homemade snack and always had the sweetest smile ready for us. -Spectacular house-reef, literally one deck away from our room and with the possibility to have diving onsite organised (although snorkelling was already amazing

  This place is truly magical. Where else can you stay in traditional Papuan huts that still offer all the comfort you could wish for? Where do you have a phenomenal house reef right at your doorstep — bumping into sharks, manta rays, sea snakes, and more fish than you can imagine? Where can you swim with dugongs in the afternoon, and reach five of the world’s top ten dive sites within a short boat trip? In short: a truly magical place and location. And it doesn’t stop there. The food is excellent, the staff incredibly warm and friendly, and the adventures are perfectly organized — from bird-of-paradise excursions to trips to the Blue River. Because Timon and his wife Helga are deeply embedded in the local culture and highly respected by the Papuan community, you get the rare opportunity to experience Papuan culture from the front row. We stayed for three weeks and enjoyed every single moment. Highly recommended.
