One of the main spots to see red bird of paradise and wilsons bird of paradise in Waisai (you see them from different bird hides). Although the pricing system is a scam! - entrance is 300k per person plus 150k for guide per group. - At the entrance we made it clear we didn't want a guide, they gave us a guide anyway free of charge (the path to the hide is very very obvious, you cannot go wrong, it's even signposted). - There is NO REAL PARK/ENTRANCE FEE. All of the money goes to the guide anyway! This is a total scam, it's so expensive! Please refuse to pay the guide fee! - hiked for 30mins and arrived at the red BOP hide at 5.30AM. by 6AM they started appearing and we had about 10 of them dancing until 7AM then they all slowly left. - we wanted to go check out the wilsons BOP hide but our guide refused and kept saying they hadn't been seen for 2 weeks. I'm very skeptical about this, I think he just didn't want to take us because he was not gonna make any more money from it. - I bel

Excellent spot, and the guide is amazing! I highly recommend this exact birdwatching point. We visited another location with different guides before, and it was very disappointing — no birds at all. Here, everything was top-level and perfectly organized. The guys have an Instagram account with their contact details. The phone number listed here doesn’t work — you need to message them via another number (I attached a screenshot). PS: Guys, please add your contact details and Instagram to your Google Maps location.

Best Place to enjoy the beauty of nature and see the magical birds of paradise. Keep doing like this guys, PReserve the nature environment is the most important and turn back action you can do! Tourist if you don't wanna spend money you do better to stay home ! ;)

Disappointing experience 300k per person to get in and 150k for useless lazy guide. The guide spoke no English and explained nothing. Just slept or stared into his phone . Saw 2 red birds of paradise and a hornbill but long way off so without binoculars just tiny. On the positive side the trail and hide were well built.
